
se² welcomes Nick Hurd MP Minister for the Civil Society and Nick O’Donohoe from Big Society Capital to the South East to launch Big Society Capital Invest. Over 40 organisations including finance intermediaries – Lankelly Chase; Parity Trust and Finance South East, attended the launch at the Buszy in Milton Keynes on 27th October. The presentation was followed by round table discussions where questions were raised on – barriers to finance; is there enough information on availability of finance and how to engage with investors.
Nick Hurd MP announced the investment of £10m via the big Lottery to get social enterprises investment ready. However he accepted that there would be a limited number of social enterprises that would be able to go down this route.
What is the se² Partnership?
The se² Partnership is the regional partnership support organisation for social enterprise in the South East. se² is made up of sub regional networks, social enterprises and other infrastructure organisations.
With the current uncertainty and public sector cuts affecting social enterprises in the South East, se² is committed to supporting social enterprises to become more trading focused and developing partnership delivery models. Through our sub regional partners se² is able to support social enterprises at a local level – they understand the environment YOU work in and can offer valuable local knowledge that other national bodies are not aware of.
