Social entrepreneurs offered chance to win share of £1.2m
England's most ambitious social entrepreneurs are being offered the chance to win a share of more than £1.2m of capital investment as part of a new competition....."Big Venture Challenge gives entrepreneurs the unique chance to scale up quickly, helping deliver social impact in communities - from a local to national stage - where the public sector can no longer provide. £1000 match-funded grant to cut travel costs
Recent increases in fuel costs and the resulting impact on cash flows may have forced your business to think hard and fast about its travel and transport requirements. Here is the latest available transport and fuel efficiency support and guidance. Apply for a grant to cut travel costs in your business:
Businesses established for at least two years, with a turnover of at least £75,000 and employing fewer than 250 people in the South East of England may be eligible for support with reducing their travel costs through the Sustainable Routes programme.

Business in the Community is a business-led charity that supports local communities through employee volunteering. They are having a national day of volunteering on Friday 24 June 2011 where the companies volunteering in the community will do practical projects such as painting, decorating, gardening etc. The companies will provide all the materials and manpower needed for the project so that there will be no cost to the community.
